Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM)

STEM classes are given twice weekly to students in grades 3-8.

The STEM curriculum reinforces regular classroom concepts like the scientific method in a hands-on setting.  The engineering design process is at the core of STEM instruction.

The Chesterfield STEM Lab is equipped with multiple 3-D printers, a Sculpfun S9 laser engraver, lab grade microscopes with built in HD cameras, stop-motion film production equipment, a class set of LEGO Spike Prime Robotics kits, a class set of BBC Microbit electronic circuit board kits, Makey Makey sets, a Cricut machine and brand new laptops and desktop computers.

Students develop their computer coding skills, become proficient at all things Google suite related, engage in personal financial education, produce digital stories with exciting software, and hone their keyboarding skills.

Students build and code their own Spike Prime robots and some classes build model solar cars for a local competition as well.
