Principal's Note

Dear Families and Friends,

The school year is coming to a fast close. It has been a truly Wonderful year for all of us.  I cannot thank each and every one of you for your continued support in educating your children.  While I prepare for the 8th grade celebration it brings back fond memories of this group. I look into the faces of our current kindergarteners and remind myself of just how short nine years truly is.  I hope to send these eighth graders off with a beautiful ceremony on the front field.

Many of you are wondering what the classroom configurations will be for next year and I wish I had that answer for you. We are still hoping to see more registrations for kindergarten. With the number of moves we have learned about recently, it is unclear how many sections of grade five we will run. It is very important that if you have plans to move out of Chesterfield, Spofford or West Chesterfield that you contact our office. We want to aide in a smooth transition for your child, which includes the exchange of records prior to the start of vacation.

With the end of the school year we will bid farewell to Mrs. Laura Robertson. She will be retiring at the end of June. I would like to welcome Mrs. Colleen Carrasquillo to the staff. She will be replacing Mrs. Robertson, as our Reading Specialist. We wish Laura all the best as she begins retirement with some traveling.

Over the summer months I encourage you to visit the Town Library, attend a Swap Bats Game, take a swim at Wares Grove, and enjoy some family time. Spend time with your child playing outside, engaging in a board game, reading a bedtime story or just enjoying the warm sunshine.

It won’t be long and I will be writing those welcome back to school letters. Best wishes for a fantastic summer vacation!

Mrs. Sharyn D’Eon
